Computes the identity key of a link.

Leave it out for a snapshot made by buildBacklinksSnapshot: the snapshot carries the provider it was built with, and that one is used. Passing a different one throws, because the snapshot is keyed by the other and not a single link would match — the edit would complete and rewrite nothing. It is needed only for a snapshot assembled by hand.
