Obsidian digest: August 2025
August was a quiet month: lots of maintenance releases, and one plugin with changes worth knowing about.
New in existing plugins
Custom Attachment Location: shared pictures, heading names, previews
Pictures you share into Obsidian from your phone’s Share menu are now renamed by your own pattern, like pasted ones, and go in at the cursor rather than at the end of the note, so you no longer run Collect afterwards to fix them. A new ${heading} token names or files an attachment after the heading it sits under. And when the plugin asks you for a name, it now shows a preview of the image, video or PDF.
