Obsidian digest: August 2024
August was about tidying attachments you already have: two plugins learned to collect them into the right place.
New in existing plugins
Custom Attachment Location: collect existing attachments
Move the attachments you already have to where your settings say they belong, for the current note, the current folder or the whole vault. Until now the settings only applied to attachments added from then on. Folders get a Collect attachments item in their menu too.
Consistent Attachments and Links: collect as you edit
Turn on Auto Collect Attachments and a note’s attachments are moved into its folder as you edit it, instead of waiting for a vault-wide clean-up. The clean-up commands can now also be run on the current note alone.
